Appoyo started as RomeoHR, a HR and workforce platform built specifically for care providers. But the more time we spent inside the sector, the clearer the real problem became.
Providers weren't struggling because they lacked one good tool. They were drowning because they had five disconnected ones. HR lived here. Care management lived there. Incidents went somewhere else. Payroll was a separate login. And billing was a spreadsheet.
So we rebuilt from the ground up — combining HR, Care Management, Incident Management, Payroll and NDIS Billing into one platform, with one login and one source of truth.
That's Appoyo.
THE PROBLEM WE SOLVED
Before Appoyo, co-founder Ben ran two provider businesses across high-needs Disability, Home Care, Child Services and Allied Health. And every system he used made an already hard job harder.
Participant funding was invisible until it was too late. Systems were so complex that new coordinators took weeks to find their footing. Data lived in three places at once — which meant it was accurate in none of them. Incident management was a spreadsheet. Payroll was a reconciliation nightmare.
I lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in overservicing - not because I wasn't paying attention, but because the system wasn't showing me the right information at the right time.
That's not a Ben problem. It's an industry problem. Payroll non-compliances, quality failures, and audit gaps are rife across the sector — and outdated, disconnected technology is the single biggest driver.
